Some of My Favorite Places -(Summer Catch up)

We have a wonderful and extra long summer. Which we got to spend a lot of it in Utah with lots of family and friends. We got out of school early to move in Rochester and Start school tomorrow in LA. We did lots and lots of fun things which i did not get to document everything. Here are a few highlights of some of my favorite places in Utah.

MIDWAY

We took a little weekend trip with the Maxfield's to the Midway cabin. It is so peacefully and beautiful up there. We played cards, rode bikes, played tennis and did a little early water skiing at Deer Creek. So fun- Love it. Jocelyn and Ellie with Nelson and Bryndy

Labor Day at the Beach

Jeff had Labor Day off so we went to Santa Monica Beach. It was a perfect conditions for beginner surfers and perfect weather. Jeff and I both tried a little surfing and the kids did so boogie boarding for the first time. There is just something about being on the Beach. LOVE IT!
Ellie was up first on the Boogie Board
Ellie, my daredevil, went first. Jeff would help them catch the wave. She loved it and tried it again and again even with no hands

Then Jocelyn's turn. She caught a few good waves and had a few falls too.

Nice work Jocelyn
Caden's turn- a little nervous
going good until he tipped over
Not so Happy now
trying to warm up after his wipe out
We brought the tent this time around and it work out great. James had a shady place to sleep, kids had a place to play out of the sun and we had a place to eat lunch with a little less sand.
the tent is kidda big, but it is what we had.
Also a place to change out of their wet clothes
Playing some Frisbee
Great last Beach day before School starts next week.

Jocelyn's Day

We celebrated Jocelyn's Birthday on Saturday. She wanted a "Butterfly Birthday" this year. She helped decorate the cake and she wanted to go on the Big rides at Universal Studios. (so we had to have Jeff come to watch the younger kids so I could go with her on the rides.) the Cake

Had lunch and the cake and headed to Universal- getting our moneys worth for our seasons pass.
Here is what the Boys did at the park

Jocelyn loved it. Her favorite ride was the Mummy
the Crew on a hot day
Then on for the rest of our adventurous day. Trying to see as much of California as we can in one year.
We decided to Take the Metro with the Kids to Downtown LA.Walking toward China Town
Then back to the station to catch the shuttle to the Dodger's game
Now in the Shuttle (Ellie supporting her new hair cut)
Even James was excited to see the Ball Game
LA Dodgers Vs. San Fransisco Giants
Getting the full experience by eating a" Dodger Dog"
The whole family, yes i am a blinker or maybe just a little tired?
We left at the top of the 8th inning when the Dodgers were up 4 to 2. Kids were getting tired and we had a long trip home. When we got home we found out we lost 5 to 4. Oh well- it was still so fun to see a few home runs and be in the stadium.
Jocelyn with her Dodger's hat she won- had a fun birthday celebration day! Wow!

James 5 months

Here is the little Man
He is 5 months now and weighs about 17 lbs
(He was about 90% for height and weight)
He has been rolling over since 4 months and just recently can sit up by himself for short periods of time.
He loves to smile and giggle and make noises.
He is very ticklish and loves to watch his brother and sisters.
We love our James E
